I did it! I figured out how to create matching patch pockets so that they mirror each other nicely.

You can do it too! I used a couple pieces of tear-away stabilizer. I drew the first image (a hand-written “G”) onto a piece of tear-away stabilizer. I used a black permanent marker, but I would suggest a washable marker just in case the ink isn’t dry and leeches onto your fabric or thread.
Then I flipped this over and traced it. Now the original piece has the “G” on the top with its mirror image on the back of the stabilizer.

Then I took a second piece of tear-away stabilizer and laid it on top of the mirror image side. Then I traced it. Now I have the original “G” and the mirror/reverse image on two separate pieces of stabilizer ๐

Ok, then I pinned each piece (centering as best I could) onto my patch pockets, and stitched VERY SLOWLY, to try to stay on the marker lines as best as I could.

Then, once satisfied, I tore away the stabilizer and am left with the OG and reverse image stitched onto my pockets! Give it a try! It’s fun! And the possibilities are endless!
Now I just need to get a free motion foot and I’m REALLY good to go!
