These shorts.
The perfect blend of practicality and feeling pretty.
Everything I want to do in them, I can.
I can go for a walk, jump up and down, sit cross legged, ride a horse? Go out for dinner, go to the beach, feel the breeze in my hair… well maybe that has nothing to do with them, but you get it.
This is such an incredibly versatile pattern. They have changed the way I wear pants.
They make me feel like I’m wearing a skirt, when I know I’m wearing shorts.
I wear them over bare legs in summer, and over leggings or tights in the fall, spring and winter.
Helen’s Closet has a blog with ways to hack the pattern for a comfortable elastic back (rather than zipper closure), a paperbag waist, wrap pants, transforming it into a dress, and making slash pockets (rather than in-seam pockets). The green pair I’m wearing have an elastic back and slash pockets. The navy pair have a paperbag waist and in-seam pockets.
This pattern is so versatile. It’s replaced jeans for me as my go-to bottoms. I am a changed woman!
When I wear them, I feel better, lighter, happier.
Will you give them a try? The pattern is the Winslow Culottes by Helen’s Closet. The pattern has 4 different lengths included, So go wild with this one. Oh my gosh, Helen, thank you so much for this pattern!
