Surprisingly, I wear this sweater vest upwards of 4 times a week! All to the chagrin of my husband who really doesn’t jibe with it, or understand why I do. Honestly, I can’t really explain why I love the Basic Slipover by Juliana Martejevs so much! But here are a few reasons:
- It’s the PERFECT layering piece. I didn’t know I had such an unmet need for layering pieces until I made my pullover
- It’s the PERFECT temperature regulator. It can be worn over my long sleeve shirt, underneath my winter coat during winter or without my coat in the fall and spring. The fleece I used is made of 100% cotton. It’s not as fluffy as some, but is quite breathable.
- It’s the PERFECT color! Not owning much brown, I am quite surprised at how versatile the color is. I wear it with navy, green, gray, black, white (and that pretty much sums up my entire color palette lol). Who knew it was such a great neutral!
Originally, the pattern was a video tutorial with English subtitles. Not my favorite experience, especially when the pattern piece for the neckband(I think?) was being referred to as the “envelope”. Yes, envelope. Since I made this pullover, the pattern has been released with written English instructions. I haven’t looked it over, but I am very pleased about that!
From some of these photos though, it looks like I’m working on my Resting Unimpressed Face ๐
This bottom set of photos is one of my favorite combinations: brown slipover over a grey longsleeve, green culotte shorts over black leggings.
